After eating lunch by the stream in Mears Park, I captured this image. I post processed it in Photomatix. I’m trying to decide if I’d like to purchase this program, so for now we will all live with the Photomatix watermarks. I hand held the three images it took to make this, so there were artifacts in the full-size image, but they all sort of disappeared when I re-sized it down. I think these will mostly go away if I use a tripod. Click the image for a larger view.

I am going to be doing some family portraits for a friend, and someone suggested to me Mears Park. Being from St. Cloud I am unfamiliar with the location, but upon looking at your photographs among others I think it will do quite well.
I am curious, did you ever end up purchasing Photomatix? I have been using it since 2007 and have been extremely happy!
Thanks for commenting Jacob. Mears Park is my favorite place in Saint Paul. There are 2 bridges and then a few rock crossings over the stream. There is also a lot of nice seating all over. My family took a nice picture standing on the lower bridge with the photographer looking upstream. The place is really great when all the flowers are blooming.
I did end up purchasing Photomatix, but I haven’t been using it much lately. I am happy with it as well, and it works excellent when paired with my SLR and a tripod.
