June 16th

60 miles East Glacier to Apgar campground. Traveled the Northern Tier’s alternate route around the south side of Glacier because the Going to Sun road want opened yet.

Longest mileage for me yet. Helped by a handful of downhill miles in the evening. Started getting a little unconfortable biking into the low sun and whether cars could really see me.

June 15th

27 miles east glacier to two medicine lake and back. This wasn’t on the Northern Tier route.

When I told the Celeste, the only other camper that I was biking through and not visiting anywhere she said I should check out the waterfall before Two Medicine. Staying in East Glacier worked alright into my schedule, so I stayed.

In East Glacier I ate at The Whistle Stop which has very good stuffed french toast. Also across the street from Sears is a bakery and hostel called Brownies. Brownies had really good fresh fruit cups for a reasonable price. Also ate at a Mexican joint called Serranos (spelling?) when Celeste recommended it – she worked there once. The place was very busy and they did a great job on the food.

June 14th

48 miles from Cut Bank to the East Glacier sears motel where I set up my tent under their Pine Trees for $15 a night.

The Sears Motel has a nice warm shower work good water flow which was a nice change from every where else. The owner was very friendly also.

This day was my longest so far.
